ABLE

The ABLE Network has completed our 16th year of operation. We support 40 individuals with intellectual disabilities as they participate in the community with work experience, recreation, volunteering, transit training and continuing education.

We are excited to report that we recently opened a much-needed ABLE Newmarket location. We now have four locations in the York Region – Aurora, Richmond Hill, Stouffville, and Newmarket.

Until May of 2024, we maintained a 4-day/week schedule of in-person programming (Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays) and we continued to have our programming on-line on Fridays. Effective the beginning of May, we returned to in-person programming on Fridays. Our Aurora location continues to maintain operations from The Rectory.

We have many paid work and volunteer placements in the community, and we continue to seek
more opportunities.

We have many meaningful volunteer jobs at Trinity:
• We bag donated bread from Cobbs, set up for the Welcome Table, and we do the WT
laundry.
• We help to do shredding for the wardens of outdated documents in Trinity’s storage
unit.
• We sort the donations to Clothes Closet and run the store on Tuesday and Thursday
mornings.
• We tidy and restock pews.
• We help Welcoming Arms by sorting the toiletry donations in the basement of the
Rectory.
• We are helping with the Martha’s Table lunch that is run by Welcoming Arms.
• We help with some custodial work.

ABLE is a fee-for-service, registered charity. Our program is funded 50% by fees paid by our
participants and the other 50% is generated by grants, private donations, and organized
fundraising events. While it’s very challenging to maintain this financial model, we do it so
that we can keep fees affordable for our participants and their families.

We are always looking for your support! Let's connect.
